The French Knitting Bee comes with an awl and dual size pom-pom maker!

Lift the lower stitch over the first stitch with the awl so there is only one stitch left on the wire.

Making a pom-pom is easy, wind your wool, ribbon or fabric around either ‘fork’ depending on what size you want.

Fluff the pom-pom and cut off any stray ends to form a smooth ball.

Insert a strand of wool into the op of the Knitting Bee until a short length protrudes out of the bottom.

Repeat this with the three remaining loops then continue knitting in a clockwise direction around the loops, but this time only wind the wool round each loop once.

The more winding the better the pom-pom. Then gather the windings with a tie between the forks and tie very tightly.

With your fee hand hold the awl like a knitting needle and cast on by winding the wool twice round the first loop.

Lift the bottom stitch over the top as before so that one stitch remains on the loop continue round and round until you get the length of french knitting you want then cast off as you would for normal knitting.

Cut along the grooved outer edge of the fork and remove from the pom-pom maker.
